"Riders on the Storm" is a timeless, haunting, and classic number by the legendary Los Angeles rock band The Doors. Released in June 1971 by Elektra Records as the second single from the band's sixth studio album, L.A Woman, it would be the last thing The Doors ever recorded together before Jim Morrison's untimely departure from our mortal/material realm.

Countless people for several decades have questioned what, if anything, this cryptic song is about, and today on Lyristoric, we're going to crack that riddle through a thorough lyrical and historical dissection of Rider's haunting lyrics, while linking it with another unique Doors phenomenon from their debut 1967 self-titled album known as "The End."
