Gloom Vine is a member of the Shadow-Mint family.
Gloom Vine costs 125 Sun. (-25 Sun at level 3, 7 and 10.)
Gloom Vine does 45 damage to any zombies in eight (8) directions. (+10 damage on levels 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.)
Gloom Vine will power up any Shadow plant placed within its gloomy embrace.

Commentary:
A way to power Shadow plants for levels where Moonflower can not be selected.
Nice vine to handle thrown imps without really disturbing the main strategy.

Bottom line:
Gloom Vine feels like a solution to a theoretical problem. It's hard to envision many situations where Gloom Vine would be useful. If Moonflowers are available, then Gloom Vine is just redundent. If Moonflowers are not available, then surely there must be another family of Mint plants which would be more effective.

Finally, what would be an ideal plant to place inside of Gloom Vine? Dusk Lobber? Why not simply use Three-peater?
