Mega Man X3 - Project Zero (SNES) Longplay

Perhaps the definitive version of Mega Man X3. This is a hack that allows you to play as either X or Zero from start to finish and you can swap between the two at almost any time.

Now, if you think Zero is overpowered and just playing as him means you're just cruise through the game, think again. There are some checks and balances in place where Zero can have a rough time.

Pros
- Powerful standard attacks. Just like in MMX2 and the original version of X3, Zero can charge up his buster to unleash 2 charged shots and a beam saber slash than can wreak enemies and can be effective on bosses.

- Zero also starts with an air dash. He can air dash to the left and to the right, but not upwards like X. He does, however, have a double jump to make up for this.

- Longer Life Bar. Zero starts with a slightly longer life bar than X. When maxed out with the Heart Tanks, Zero has the longest life bar in the game.

Now for the drawbacks.
- While Zero can enter the upgrade capsules, he can't utilize the upgrades. He basically collects them for X, much like he did in X5 and X6. However, he does get access to the Black armor in Doppler's lab where X gets the Golden Armor.

- Takes more damage. Until you get the Black Armor, Zero takes more damage than X

- Uses more Weapons Energy. While Zero can use weapons gained from the 8 Mavericks, he tends to use more energy than X

- Zero can't charge special weapons like he could in the previous games.

- IMPORTANT! - If you beat Vile early on and change the second Doppler stage to where you face the Kraken creature at the end, you face off against a mosquito-like robot. DO NOT use Zero to fight it. Use X instead. If you beat the robot with Zero, you basically lose him for the rest of the game and have to continue on as X.

Changes to the game
- Bit, Byte and Vile use the Doppler boss theme when they appear instead of the normal boss theme.

- If you play as Zero in the Intro stage, you switch to X when Mac captures you.

- X's Super X-Buster charge shot has been changed slightly.
