A Consequential Court in Consequential Times
We live in consequential times. The United States Supreme Court recently issued a series of high-profile decisions over a wide range of issues such as presidential immunity and the power of Federal agencies.
Join Joseph Ashbrook of the Federalist Society as he discusses some of these decisions, including one seismic (though potentially less well known) opinion that returned power to the people and could have as great of an impact on American government as any decision in close to a century.
Mr. Ashbrook will also discuss attacks on the Court, the consequential times in which we live, and the Court’s historic contribution of (real) progress toward our American ideals.
Also, John O’Neill will educate us about one of our most important founding fathers, John Hancock. Hancock was an American Founding Father, merchant, statesman, and prominent Patriot of the American Revolution. He was the longest-serving president of the Continental Congress. What was Hancock's role in the nation’s founding, and what was up with that large signature?
