South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol pledged a potential shift in policy by supplying Ukraine with offensive weapons in response to North Korea’s reported troop deployment to Russia.

Following a summit with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Yoon stated South Korea wouldn’t “sit idle” as North Korea’s actions threaten global security.

Reports suggest North Korea has already sent 3,000 troops to Russia, with plans to increase this to 10,000 by December.

Yoon’s stance echoes Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s warnings of North Korea’s growing support for Russia, including military personnel and weapons, NPR has reported.
