The Profit Moffatt Show with Trevor ToeCracker Crook EP: 3
So, the other day, I had the one and only Trevor "ToeCracker" Crook on The Profit Moffatt Show. If you don’t know Trevor, well, buckle up. This guy’s been around the block in the direct response world, and our chat was packed with gold nuggets—his journey from banker to badass copywriter, his life as a globetrotting entrepreneur, and how he now calls Panama home. (And yeah, I’m jealous of that tropical lifestyle too.)
Back in the day, Trevor was punching the clock in the banking world for 20 years. But then 1997 hit, and he picked up Dan Kennedy’s book, How to Make Millions with Your Ideas. That book flipped a switch in his brain. Trevor realized, "Wait, I can get paid to write sales letters?" Game on. Fast forward to 2001, and he charged his first client $10k AUD (that’s like $19,000 today) for a sales letter. That little letter raked in $14 million in sales for a stock market course. Yeah, you read that right—$14 freakin’ million. Not a bad way to kick off a career, right?
We also dove into the power of real relationships. Trevor’s got this superpower of connecting with people in the most authentic way possible. He’s rubbed elbows with the best in the biz, but here’s the thing—he’s not in it just for the business. He’s in it for real connections. Because let’s be honest, nobody likes the guy who’s always hustling for the next big deal. Trevor’s all about keeping it real, which is why people are drawn to him like a magnet.
Speaking of real, his no-BS attitude is what makes him a magnet for the right kind of clients. When I asked him about his "take me or leave me" style, he said, "I’ve been this way since my banking days. Some people love it, some don’t. But the ones who get it, get it." And I couldn’t agree more—being unapologetically yourself is the ultimate client filter.
These days, Trevor’s not cranking out copy like he used to. He’s shifted gears to masterminds and exclusive events (including an epic 60th birthday bash in Thailand featuring industry titans like Drayton Bird). He’s more about creating experiences and passing on his wisdom to the next generation. Because after all these years, he’s realized that life isn’t just about grinding for the next gig—it’s about designing a life that you actually want to live.
My biggest takeaway? Time is greater than money. Especially when you’ve been around the block like Trevor. He’s built a lifestyle where he calls the shots, and that’s what it’s all about—freedom, baby. Our chat was a big ol’ reminder that staying true to yourself is the best way to thrive, both in business and in life. It’s authenticity that keeps you winning in the long run. And Trevor’s living proof.
