In today's vlog we're flying to Mexico, having chilaquiles for breakfast at Benito Juárez airport, arriving to rainy Sonora, spending Christmas at Hermosillo, learning the meaning of corn swollen and eating mexican delicatessen at La Tatagüila.

A few months ago, I came to Sonora to live my first Mexican wedding ever. I had so much fun and had the opportunity to visit amazing places and create greater experiences. It's no surprise that by the time to leave, I didn't want to leave. Sonora had given me so much love that I wanted to experience it for longer. A few weeks later, the married couple asked me to go back to Sonora and spend Christmas with them, to experience how a Northern Mexican family lives their holidays. And I said yes to that!

I booked my ticket in October and was flying to Mexico, again, in December!

My flight made me stop at Mexico City and I took advantage of that time and went to have green chilaquiles for breakfast.

I landed in Sonora and it seems it was raining. There's a saying in my country that when you do something that you normally don't do, it's going to rain. For example, you always arrive late but suddenly, you arrive early to a meeting. Someone that knows you for long would be able to say: "Wow, you're early, it's gonna rain!". So, I thought it was funny that it was raining in a desert Mexican state the day I landed. Since I'm never there, it was raining the day I arrived.

About this trip I love the fact that there was no theatre, I had the opportunity to experience the real raw experiences of a northern Mexican family in holidays and it was interesting! I always dreamed of being a part of a big loving family and this trip gave me a little window to experience exactly that.

I also had the chance to ask for advice, learn some customs, improve some personal habits, discover the individual difference in small-family and big-family dynamics, eat amazing traditional Mexican food, discover a new Mexican state.

You'll see it in the next few videos.

I'd love to point out that even though I got certain comforts at my arrival, I also was very blessed to visit in days where the currency exchange gave me more Mexican pesos for my US dollars. I did not maxed out my credit card even though I traveled for 22 days, thank God.
