This is 1 Terabyte Today, 20 years ago, and 68 years ago. How much did they cost?

1 terabyte today costs just $11 dollars. But I was told that the same terabyte 20 years ago already cost $835 dollars. They both store the same 250 movies. So I had to find out, how much did it cost when my parents,
or grandparents were growing up?

Well this is the oldest commercially available storage device made in 1956. The IBM RAMAC is made up of 50 magnetically coated metal plates. And it weighed over a ton, but only stored 5 MB. So to create 1 terabyte you would need 2,000 of these for the price of $88 billion dollars. Crazy considering…
