Pressing & Accessories: Down Sets, Shoulders and Pushups Finisher

Next, I reduced the load by 25% and did another 5 down sets in the 7-10 rep range, again at 1-2 RIR for additional pressing volume in a manner more amenable to my connective tissues

Next, after pressing I did lateral raises for side delts on the Lifefitness machine. I did these in the 10+ rep range, 0-1 RIR as my shoulders are pre fatigued in this state. Pressing is mostly anterior delt biased but the sides are also robustly activated for stability, especially if you’re like me with a tiny skeleton, narrow clavicles and pre-existing injuries

Finally, just some normal @$$ pushups. Yup. Always a convenient finisher for any pressing/shoulder/tricep centric training session, at this point the 20+ rep range puts me perfectly at that 0-1 RIR right up to failure point. I do 5 sets using a standard, just outside of shoulder width hand placement and shut the session down
