Scotty Milas' All Things Considered Franchising Podcast w/ Jeff Bevis
All Things Considered Podcast with host Scotty Milas and guest Jeff Bevis of Caring Senior Service
Not sure about what industry you are interested in becoming a franchisee in?
Not every opportunity is in the fast-food industry. There are lots of industries out there that can not only help you achieve your financial goals but also fulfill your passion in life.
In this episode of the "All Things Considered Franchising Podcast," host Scotty Milas interviews Jeff Bevis, a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) and the COO of Caring Senior Service. With 38 years of experience in franchising and seven different brands in five different industries, Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the senior care market.
Scotty and Jeff discuss the advantages of investing in the senior care market, the characteristics of successful franchisees, and the importance of operational support in a franchise. Jeff also shares insights on finding and retaining quality caregivers and the need for physical office space in the home care industry.
He stresses to Scotty that one of the largest problems he sees is that most people only perceive the term “home care” as a few simple services. He states it is much more than that. Jeff says, "The home care industry is divided into home health and home care. We provide non-invasive services like meal preparation, companionship, and personal care." Jeff feels that one concern is that the continuing rise in the elderly population is progressing faster than the services available. "Our industry is not even close to saturation. The demand for senior care services continues to increase." Finally, Scotty asks Jeff if he feels franchising is a good thing for people to invest in. Jeff strongly agrees and tells Scotty, "Franchising is not for everybody, but if you want to follow a proven model and be part of a brand and network, it's a great opportunity."
Key Takeaways:
-The senior care market is booming and there is a high demand for non-invasive home care services.
-Successful franchisees in the senior care industry come from various backgrounds and have strong management and organizational skills.
-Grassroots recruiting, such as reaching out to local churches and nursing schools, is an effective way to find quality caregivers.
-Franchising offers the benefit of a proven system, support, and a network of peers, making it a viable option for entrepreneurs.
-Taking the time to find the right fit in terms of culture, leadership, and operational support is crucial when considering a franchise opportunity.
