delicious peach cobbler recipe

Ingredients:
4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or 2 cans of sliced peaches, drained)
1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
1/2 cup brown sugar (optional for extra sweetness)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare Peaches:
If using fresh peaches: Peel and slice them. Mix the peaches with 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar (and optional brown sugar) in a bowl, then set aside.
If using canned peaches: Drain the peaches and mix with the sugar as above Prepare Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Slowly stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
Assemble Cobbler:
Pour the batter into a 9x13-inch baking dish (or a similar size).
Evenly distribute the peach mixture over the batter. Do not stir; the batter will rise up around the peaches while baking.
Optional Topping:
Sprinkle the top of the cobbler with cinnamon and nutmeg for extra flavor Bake:
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the batter has risen around the peaches.
The cobbler will be slightly crisp on the top and soft underneath.
Serve:
Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes, then serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
