Australian lawmaker confronts British royals: ‘You are not my king’

After King Charles III delivered a speech to Australia’s Parliament, Indigenous Senator Lidia Thorpe interrupted, shouting, “You are not my king” and demanding the return of stolen land.

The protest occurred as King Charles and Queen Camilla visited Canberra, where the King acknowledged Australia’s First Nations people.

Thorpe, a long-time critic of the British monarchy, turned her back during “God Save the King” and has advocated for a treaty, CNN has reported.
