Jane Griffiths is an accomplished healthcare leader and the current Chief Executive Officer of Day Hospitals Australia, a role she has held since July 2014. With a distinguished career in the healthcare industry spanning over three decades, Jane has made significant contributions to the private overnight and day hospital sectors, with expertise in negotiation, budgeting, business planning, and governance.

Jane's journey in healthcare began with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Distinction) in Nursing Education from Curtin University. Her early roles included Business Manager and Director of Nursing at the Perth Dermatology Clinic and leadership positions at The Women’s Clinic Day Hospital, McCourt Street Day Surgery, and St John of God Hospital Subiaco. Her passion for the day hospital model emerged during her tenure at a large corporate hospital, where she and her CEO envisioned the potential of same-day surgery as a more efficient and cost-effective healthcare solution. This idea led Jane to explore ambulatory surgery units in the USA, inspiring her commitment to transforming the Australian healthcare system by adopting these innovative practices.

Throughout her career, Jane has been a key advocate for the growth and development of day hospitals in Australia. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping Day Hospitals Australia, where she served as a board member in 2009 and later as President from 2010 until her appointment as CEO in 2014. Her forward-thinking approach and deep knowledge of the sector have driven the organisation's growth and influence, making her an essential figure in the industry.

In addition to her work with Day Hospitals Australia, Jane has consulted widely across the sector and continues to expand her expertise. She has been appointed as one of the three Australian representatives on the International Association of Ambulatory Surgery (IAAS) General Assembly in 2021, further demonstrating her influence in the international healthcare community.
