The first sentence in an article in the Oklahoman from 2021 is, "Gov. Kevin Stitt is coming under fire for removing two members of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority board shortly after a majority of its members voted against his interests on Medicaid managed care."

He SHOULD have received backlash. Governor Stitt went around the legislature and simply appointed people to the OHCA who would agree with his decision to implement managed care - and fired those who wouldn't. Even though a similar program tried in the 90's didn't work. Now, Oklahomans on the NEW SoonerSelect can enroll in plans provided by one of only three companies managing Medicaid plans in the state.

Today, those using Oklahoma's new managed care system - including adoptive parents - are often unable to receive care because of numerous system problems.

With us on Wednesday will be Oklahoma citizen Salome Vaughn and Oklahoma Senator David Bullard, to talk about the current state of SoonerSelect in Oklahoma and what can be done to fix it.
