Do Root Canals Cause Cancer? 🦷

The answer isn’t straightforward, but it’s time to ask the hard questions. Medicine today often discourages questions and curiosity—but we need to collect and connect the dots.

* Infectious Diseases and Cancer: It’s well-established that viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi can cause cancer. The gut microbiome is also linked to cancer initiation and progression.

* The Tumor Microbiome: Certain bacteria from the gut can even seed into tumor environments, like in pancreatic cancer, aiding cancer growth and immune evasion.

* Root Canal Bacteria: A recent 2023 study found that bacteria in root canals can lead to local immune dysfunction, causing chronic inflammation and systemic immune suppression. This has been linked to autoimmune diseases like Lupus and Sjogren’s, and if it can happen with autoimmune conditions, cancer isn’t out of the question.

The precedent exists—though there’s no conclusive link yet. Keep questioning, keep researching, and remember: true healthcare is about empowering you with the knowledge you need to make informed choices.
