Cuba grid collapses again, hurricane heaps on misery

Cuba’s electrical grid collapsed for the fourth time in 48 hours on Sunday, worsened by Hurricane Oscar’s landfall.

Millions remain without power as strong winds and rain threaten further damage to the island’s already failing infrastructure.

Despite efforts to restore electricity, repeated failures have caused major setbacks. The government canceled schools and advised only essential workers to report.

Protests erupted in Havana, while residents face severe shortages of food, medicine, and fuel, Reuters has reported.
