NanoApostle | A Brutally Hard Anime Soulslike

Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.
My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review.

In this episode I showcase a new Anime Themed Indie Soulslike called NanoApostle on Steam. This game was developed by 18 Light Studios, who also worked on the underwater soulslike Pronty, which ive also reviewed, and was published by PQube Games, who also worked on several other indie games that ive been reviewed Republic Of Pirates, Metal Max Xeno Reborn and the excellent Tormented Souls.

NanoApostle follows the story of an unknown young girl, who finds herself unwittingly trapped in a research facility. She is an experimental test subject for the Apostle, sentient nanomachine with deadly abilities. With no other option the unlikely duo must team up to complete a brutal sequence of tests designed to determine their combat effectiveness, as they are pitted against gigantic monstrosities in a gauntlet of epic battles with her freedom as the ultimate prize.

This game is one of favourite indie soulslikes of the year, boasting a fantastic combat loop, very responsive controls, some amazing anime styled art and a surprisingly poignant story bringing the experience together. Furthermore this is one of the most challenging titles ive experienced and offers a huge amount of challenges and achievements that will provide many hours of enjoyment.
