By 1920, their influence had changed medical school curricula, and 100-years later (now), the infiltration is happening again, with pharmaceutical companies and universities collaborating on propagandizing / gaslighting medical students about a problem that doesn't exist. This is one way that society is quietly being changed: the indoctrination of professionals who lack critical thinking skills.
