Sonic the Hedgehog 3 executive producer Toby Ascher teased more cinematic outings for the Blue Blur. Before this, composer Tom Holkenberg, aka Junkie XL, threw in his own two cents on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in July.

At the Sonic Central presentation (via ComicBook.com), Ascher and director Jeff Fowler delved into new information about Sonic's journey, with Ascher professing, "There's such a rich universe of stories. I don't see us slowing down at all." Putting the spotlight on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 itself, Ascher touched upon why the upcoming sequel will be an Avengers-level event in April, conveying at the time the production team got "excited about the idea of expanding our characters in our world into television," because it gives them a platform to "really do character studies."
