Tartar Sauce Recipe
Tartar sauce is a versatile condiment that pairs well with a variety of dishes. It's especially good with:
Fried or grilled fish: A classic pairing, like fish and chips or grilled salmon.
Seafood: Works well with shrimp, crab cakes, calamari, and oysters.
Vegetable fritters: Great with zucchini fritters, tempura vegetables, or fried pickles.
Sandwiches: Adds a tangy, creamy element to fish sandwiches or veggie burgers.
Roasted vegetables: Complements roasted potatoes, asparagus, or broccoli.
Ingredients:
1 bunch of chives, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon mustard
200 ml vegetable oil
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
Salt, to taste
Ground pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Whisk together egg yolk, mustard, salt, pepper, and vinegar.
Slowly add oil, starting with a few drops. Once it thickens, pour in a steady stream while whisking.
Optional: Add water to lighten the texture.
Stir in chives and onion, then chill.
Enjoy your tartar sauce!
