A fleeing bank robbery suspect attempting to shoot at police Wednesday afternoon instead shot a bystander in the head, according to Forest Park Police Chief Bill Arns. Arns said the suspect, 35-year-old Daimeyon Smith, had robbed a Springfield Pike U.S. Bank and attempted to flee in a car but crashed on Northland Boulevard.
