Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller movie called Armor, another of these junk action movies being dumped out on VOD. Even though it has Stallone! They still can't make them any good anymore no matter how hard they try. A father and son working as security guards for an armored truck company encounter a team of would-be robbers while on a bridge. They become trapped and must come up with a plan to escape and ensure their survival. They discover the value of what they have been carrying and join forces to outgun and outwit their attackers. Why is every last action screenplay so boring & derivative these days? Armor stars Jason Patric and Sylvester Stallone, along with Dash Mihok, Josh Wiggins, Blake Shields, and Erin Ownbey. This looks intense but it all seems so dull and forgettable, just another "how do they get out of this?" thriller.

Armor is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Justin Routt and starring Sylvester Stallone, Dash Mihok, Josh Wiggins, and Jason Patric.

Armor is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 22, 2024.

Synopsis
Armored truck security guard James Brody (Jason Patric) is working with his son Casey (Josh Wiggins) transporting millions of dollars between banks when a team of thieves led by Rook (Sylvester Stallone) orchestrate a takeover of their truck to seize the riches. Following a violent car chase, Rook soon has the armored truck surrounded and James and Casey find themselves cornered onto a decrepit bridge. As the truck dangles off the bridge, at risk of plunging into the water below, James and the fate of the stolen fortune hang in the balance. With limited time before Rook and the assailants break in, James will push his skills to the ultimate limit to protect his son’s life above his own.

Filming occurred in Pearlington, Mississippi and Waveland, Mississippi in September 2023.[5][6] Since filming occurred during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the filmmakers were granted interim agreements which gave them permission to make the film.[7]

Crew members dispute the directorial credit Routt received for the film alleging that Randall Emmett coordinated several production elements while remaining unlisted on call sheets and avoiding the spotlight. According to props assistant Michael Castro, "He (Routt) literally was pretending he was directing the scene that was going on - looking at the monitor and then looking over at the action and making hand movements to make it look like he was telling people what to do. It was all make-believe."[8]

A new trailer has been released for Armor. Armor is an upcoming action-thriller starring Sylvester Stallone. Now, Lionsgate has released the trailer for Armor. The trailer begins with Stallone's character explaining Murphy's Law, which he summarizes as "if something can go wrong, it will go wrong, at the worst possible time." The scene transitions to reveal a father and son who are driving an armored truck as security guards. Suddenly, Stallone and his crew attack the truck, and the security guards call dispatch for support. After being chased by Stallone and his crew, the truck becomes stuck on the bridge, and a battle for survival begins.

It is exciting to see Stallone return to the action genre for this Armor trailer. While he is appearing as Dwight Manfredi in Tulsa King season 2 this year, it has been a year since Stallone was in an action movie, with The Expendables 4 in 2023. Stallone has frequented the genre throughout his career, so seeing him return for an action movie for Armor is an exciting way for the actor to stay true to form.

Sylvester Stallone has been in a huge number of action movies, and his cast of characters ranges from conventionally strong to superhuman.

Departing from his usual fare, however, Stallone will have the challenge of playing the villain in Armor. While it seems like Stallone's character may be the protagonist of the film, he ostensibly antagonizes two innocent security guards. So, even if audiences are supposed to be most aligned with Stallone and his team's robbery mission, the fight for survival is for the father and son security guard duo. Stallone is often the action lead, rather than the villain, making Armor an interesting stretch for the actor.

Watching the Armor trailer, I am struck by the way in which even the trailer itself toys with who the lead character is. In a typical survival narrative, the focus is on those in the fight to survive and how they got into that situation. The Armor trailer does touch on this point, but it starts by introducing Stallone's crew before anything else. Once Armor is released, I am interested to see who the film is getting us to root for as the story progresses.

Sly is back for more thrills! Sylvester Stallone is returning to the big screen in the upcoming tense thriller, Armor, and he's bringing Jason Patric along for the ride. The film opens on November 22, 2024, but prior to that, Collider is delighted to bring our readers an exclusive sneak peek at the key art for the movie. The poster features Stallone and Patric, armed and ready for battle.

In the film, Stallone steps back into the shoes of a master criminal, playing an experienced master thief, who puts a plan together to rob an armored truck of its massively valuable contents. From the first trailer, released a few days ago by Lionsgate, we also know what to expect. The trailer begins with Stallone and his crew (which also includes Ray Donovan star Dash Mihok) prepping for their big heist, thinking it will be just another easy payday after all the other jobs they've pulled off in the past.

They're in for a massive shock, however, when they discover that the truck that they're looking for is being looked after by a father and son pairing in the form of James (Jason Patric) and Casey (Josh Wiggins). When Stallone's crew flips their truck on a bridge, with James and Casey trapped inside, they find themselves forced to take a stand against their attackers if they want to survive. The bad guys of the piece claim they'll let the pair walk free and unharmed if they give it up, but it's fair to say James doesn't trust them as far as he can throw them.

What happens in the Armor trailer?
