The SHOCK of Installing a Generac generator that Nobody Tells You

Shortly after Hurricane Beryl ripped through the piney woods of east Texas and took out our power for FOUR days and removed the internet for NINE, we realized we had to have a way to run some A/C in a power-out emergency.

It was NOT quick, and it was NOT painless. There was a lot of time invested; more money than I thought it would be; some bruised and cut knuckles, and a lot of hollering done at high levels. It was almost like mating elephants, but it didn't take 18 months to finish. Thank God, we did it in a couple of months.

Not what I would call a good prep for TEOTWAWKI, but for most any other SHTF scenario, it is a good investment. The shocking truth of the matter is, a whole home generator is going to do much more than dent your wallet; it is going to tear it up. However, the peace of mind is worth it for us High Mileage folks!

Our after-action report from the Hurricane Beryl carnage is here: https://youtu.be/JmLJt3xxy6A

We have no affiliation with Generac and paid everything for this install out-of-pocket.
