Managing chronic pain is something every primary care needs to understand. This is not something relegated only to pain management specialist because every single patient in their life will experience pain, both acute and chronic and it is up to the primary care to identify the correct diagnosis and apply the regenerative protocols that heal the patient. The old days of prescribing opiates are long gone, and the consequences of that malpractice is still felt by many. The conventional management of chronic pain is still greatly lacking with medications that have more side effects than benefit and do not actually heal the patient or regenerate or modulate the underlying chronic inflammation and cytokine response.
