Mikhail Pichugin survived over two months adrift in icy seas after his inflatable boat, carrying him, his brother Sergei, and nephew Ilya, went missing on August 9 during a trip to Sakhalin Island.

His brother and nephew tragically died during the ordeal. The boat was found 1,000 kilometers away in the Sea of Okhotsk, 66 days later.

Pichugin, weighing 100 kg before the trip, survived on limited supplies and lost 50 kg. He was rescued by fishermen and is now in stable condition, Barron’s has reported.
