This Vampire Doesn't Want To Suck Blood!
Unusual Record Store has dug up a rare gem from the crypt!

Released in 1963 by the trailblazing (and somewhat baffling) group The Dead Beats, "Count D***ula" was an audacious, high-concept exploration of a vampire with... very unique needs. Inspired by the band’s bassist, who had an intense fascination with vampire culture—but not the blood part, of course—the song told the bold tale of Count D***ula, a vampire who didn’t care for blood but craved something much more personal.

With the immortal (and utterly absurd) line, "I vont to suck your d***!", The Dead Beats took vampire mythology to places Bram Stoker never imagined (and probably never wanted to).

The band's deadly serious delivery only made the whole thing funnier, as they earnestly blended doo-wop and rock ‘n’ roll to chronicle Count D***ula's hunt for... well, let’s just say it wasn’t your typical night out for a vampire.

Hailed as one of the weirdest, yet oddly captivating tracks of its time, "Count D***ula" remains a rare gem of music history, proving that vampires don’t just want your blood—sometimes, they want a little more.
