With feathery gills protruding from the sides of its head, it breathes underwater and can reach up to a foot in length. Axolotls come in various colors, from brown and black to pink and albino, making them a fascinating sight. Unfortunately, they are critically endangered due to habitat loss, pollution, and invasive species in their native lakes.
