The United States has announced that it is sending Israel an additional high-altitude anti-missile system to boost its defenses against a potential Iranian attack.

The THAAD weapon system is used to shoot down incoming ballistic missiles and will be operated by US troops in Israel. President Joe Biden said the system would bolster Israel's air defenses following Iran's ballistic missile attacks on Israel this year. The announcement was made just hours after Iran warned the US to keep its military forces out of Israel.
