In a shocking and tragic incident, a Wisconsin babysitter has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly returning a deceased infant to his mother while attempting to disguise the child's death. Marissa Tietsort, 28, is accused of causing the death of a 2-month-old boy, who suffered blunt force trauma while in her care.
On October 18, 2018, after the mother dropped off her son for babysitting, Tietsort is said to have concealed the infant's lifeless body in a snowsuit and car seat, with a hat pulled over his eyes to make it appear as though he was simply sleeping. The mother, believing her child was asleep, took him to a laundromat where she discovered he was cold and unresponsive. Despite her attempts to revive him, it was too late; the infant had been dead for several hours.
Authorities later found Tietsort at a hotel where she confessed that she did not check for a pulse or attempt resuscitation after the baby's death. Disturbingly, after returning the child to his mother, she went out for dinner and even swam with her boyfriend and son without disclosing the tragedy that had occurred.
The autopsy revealed that the infant died from multiple blunt force injuries to the head. This horrific case raises numerous questions about child safety and the responsibilities of caregivers. As the investigation continues, Tietsort remains in custody awaiting trial, facing severe legal consequences for her actions.
