Is it a good idea to move a lot of files over wifi?

Unless you got that really good wifi that is commonly used in an industrial setting, chances are you probably haven't purchased it and use a 1 gigabit wifi router or 300 megabyte per second router. On the consumer side of things these are the common speeds that you see with wireless routers used in homes. Both are great because you don't need wires but if you move a lot of files over wifi, your router will typically drop the signal and reset itself after 100 to 170 gigabytes worth of files transferred.
Wired vs wifi will always win out over both but if all else fails, use a usb flash drive to move what you hold sacred.
