God's One Per-centers by Doc Yeager

One night I preached a message on the prodigal son, and why he went into the world. As I was about halfway through the message out of my mouth came a declaration of God's one percenters. Now, if you look up this term when it comes to the world it could have numerous meanings.

#1, A member of an "outlaw" motorcycle gang. Origin is the American Motorcycle Associations from the 1960s that basically said that 99% of motorcyclists are law-abiding citizens. That only 1% run with outlaw motorcycle gangs. That the 1% of the most radical, over-the-top groups.

#2, One Percenters can also represent The 1% who are the richest Americans and who buy our congressmen and run our government.

#3, One Percenters can also represent The very small portion of drug addicts that are able to cease their addictions without entering a recovery program.

#4, One Percenter could also be a person with an IQ in the top 1%. An intelligible representative of the multitudes that make up humanity. If you are someone with an IQ over 250, then you are considered to be in the 1% bracket of intelligence.

SO WHAT DO I MEAN WHEN I SAY GOD'S ONE PERCENTERS?

We are talking about someone who's absolutely radically sold out to Jesus Christ. Someone who is endeavoring to fulfill the very 1st commandment: Thou Shall Love the Lord Thy God with All of Thy Heart, Soul, Mind, Strength and Being!

This kind of person is not living in the 10% bracket. This person is not at all interested in giving God the least amount he can, in order to ensure he goes to heaven. This kind of person wants to give God everything he is, everything he has, and everything he ever will be! This kind of person is in a hurry to die to self, that Christ may come exploding into every area of his life. Please realize that I am not talking about getting saved. I am talking about a radical commitment to Jesus Christ! You're not living for Christ to get what he has, but you simply want to give him everything you have, because he's given you everything he has, is, or ever will be.

As I was preaching, and this word came out of my mouth: God's one Percenters, and at that moment I realized that this is exactly what I have been wanting ever since I gave my heart to Jesus Christ in 1975. I want to be a part of this amazing group of people who gave God 100%. And because they gave God 100% they ended up in the 1% bracket.
