Marc’s Grocery Heist: Inside Job Exposed After $147K Theft

In February 2023, Marc's Grocery in Euclid, Ohio, was the target of an armed robbery orchestrated by Cartier Pickens and store employee Ariel Miller. Pickens entered the store and forced Miller, who was on duty, at gunpoint to open the store's safe and fill his backpack with cash. After obtaining over $147,000, Pickens pistol-whipped Miller before fleeing the scene. At the time, Miller reported the incident to the police, portraying herself as a victim.

However, further investigation revealed that the robbery was an inside job, planned by Pickens and Miller, who were in a romantic relationship. Text messages between the two showed coordination of the crime, with Pickens instructing Miller on how to act and what to do during the heist. Their relationship and premeditated communication exposed the duo's attempt to deceive authorities and stage the robbery as an external attack on the store.

Both Pickens and Miller were arrested in October 2024 after a lengthy investigation, involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI. They now face several charges, including aggravated robbery, conspiracy, and grand theft.
