Warning: major spoilers for Outer Banks season 3 ahead.

Pogues, it's time. Outer Banks season 4 is so close on the horizon that we can almost taste it.

When Outer Banks first debuted on Netflix in April 2020, the show became an instant runaway hit for the YA crowd and adults alike. It makes sense — the series has everything: action, mystery, romance, adventure, and so much drama. At its core, Outer Banks depicts the rivalry between two groups of people, specifically the teens, who live in Outer Banks, North Carolina: the upper-class “Kooks” and the working-class “Pogues.” But there's much more than just class tension brewing in OBX — there's also many a treasure hunt, star-crossed romances, and mystery after mystery after mystery.

Season 3, which premiered on Netflix on February 23, 2023, had a finale that was nearly the length of a feature film. There were reunions, new love connections, betrayals of all kinds, and lots of high-stakes action. (To name a few: arson, a train heist, a plane crash, jungle shootouts, and a cave explosion after finding the Lost City of El Dorado. You know, the usual.) A shocking time jump and a hint at the gang's next treasure hunt in the episode's final minutes has set the stage for an even bigger fourth season.

Below, find out everything you need to know about Outer Banks season 4, including cast info, plot details, the release date on Netflix, and trailer and first-look photos. Pro tip: You can click on an arrowed topic below to head straight there.

When is Outer Banks season 4 coming out on Netflix?
On August 29, 2024, Netflix announced that season 4 of Outer Banks will be split into two parts, much like other hits from the streamer like Bridgerton season 3 and Emily in Paris season 4. Each part of Outer Banks season 4 will feature five episodes each. Part 1 of Outer Banks season 4 will premiere on October 10, 2024, and Part 2 will follow on November 7, 2024.

On August 15, 2024, Netflix previously announced that Outer Banks season 4 would arrive in the fall of 2024 with a new promo teaser featuring the Pogues in an ad for their Kildare County Surf Shop.

On June 20, 2024, almost exactly a year after their last Instagram post, all six Pogues — Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Carlacia Grant — had previously returned to their official OBX Instagram account to announce filming had wrapped.

“Alright, guys, we have officially wrapped season 4 of Outer Banks," says series lead Chase Stokes in the IG Reel. “It has been a crazy, crazy journey. But, uh, it's done.” After some very Pogue-ish “post-production” shenanigans from each cast member, Stokes and his castmates returned to face the camera, all smiles. “We are so stoked about this. See you guys soon!"

Post-strikes, it was assumed that the release date was dependent on the scale of season 4 and the main cast's schedules.mICYMI: The main cast is making big waves in Hollywood. In 2022, Madelyn Cline starred in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Jonathan Daviss starred in Do Revenge; Madison Bailey will soon front an upcoming Netflix sci-fi slasher film co-starring Ginny & Georgia's Antonia Gentry; Drew Starkey is set to lead Luca Guadagnino's next historical romance film, Queer, opposite James Bond Daniel Craig; and Chase Stokes is gearing up for the release of at least three feature-length films, all in which he has top billing, including Uglies co-starring Keith Powers and Joey King.

During his conversation with People on April 1, 2024, Stokes shared a filming update and called season 4 “one of [his] favorite seasons yet" — but that doesn't mean he's been trusted with release date news. “They won't tell us anything,” Stokes said about OBX's streamer Netflix. “God's honest truth. They're like, ‘You guys might tell the world, so we're going to keep to ourselves.’”

Is there a trailer for or photos from Outer Banks season 4 yet?
Netflix released the official trailer for Outer Banks season 4 part 1 on September 24, 2024, and to say we are in for a wild ride would be an understatement. “So, you might be wondering: What happens after you find the lost city of El Dorado and you are stranded with a sack full of gold? Let me catch you up,” John B's voice kicks off the trailer.

In the next few scenes, we see the Pogues living their best life, surfing it up, and enjoying the calm of leaving treasure hunting in the past — but nothing lasts forever, especially when money is tight. “What we didn't know at the time is that nothing ever stands still,” John B proclaims as the group realizes they are broke, and, just like that, our faves are back to their old ways. This time, they are hired to look for Blackbeard's treasure — but, of course, nothing is as simple as it looks. You can watch the trailer below:

Previously, Netflix had put out a teaser for Outer Banks season 4 on August 29, 2024. “We finally did it; we finally found the gold,” Chase Stokes's John B proclaims in the video, holding a piece of gold while standing atop a roof. The next scene cuts to the rest of the Pogues fishing and soaking up the sun. “That's where the story should have ended,” John B then adds, “but, really, it was just the beginning.” You can watch the teaser trailer below:

Netflix has released a ton of first-look pictures from Outer Banks season 4 part 1, which tease chaos in paradise. The first few images from episode one of season 4 show the Pogues living their best life and getting more than cozy with each other. One photo, from episode four, introduces us to a new face in Figure 8 — namely Mia Challis as Ruthie, who is pictured with Kelce (Deion Smith), Topper (Austin North), Sofia (Fiona Palomo), and Rafe (Drew Starkey). Let's refresh your memory. In the OBX season 3 finale, the Pogues return to Kildare County as heroes — they successfully found the Lost City of El Dorado in South America, finally getting the gold after being cheated out of it two seasons in a row. The show makes a whopping 18-month time jump, and John B reveals through dialogue that things feel a little “different” post-expedition, almost too “normal.”

“Kie's saving turtles, Pope's going away to school, and JJ bought the charter boat. And we've got a killer surf shop,” he says to Sarah. “Yeah, that's all good, right?” replies Sarah before their conversation is cut short by a mysterious old man. Fast forward to the final seconds of the episode, and suddenly, it seems like the Pogues have found their next hunt: diving into the mystery of real-life pirate Blackbeard.

“Blackbeard is part of Outer Banks lore, and so there’s just a lot of stuff we can work with out of that. It is going to be a part of it, but it’s not going to be a traditional Blackbeard-type tale, although we’re using elements of the mythology going forward,” co-creator Josh Pate told The Hollywood Reporter after the season 3 finale. “And as far as the time jump, we felt like we needed to get them out of school. The actors are a little older, and it was harder to keep them in high school. We just wanted to move them into a new phase in their lives and move them forward a little bit. The epilogue at the end of [episode] 10 was to set up those two things that we knew we wanted to do going forward.”

On August 28, 2024, Netflix unveiled the official synopsis for OBX season 4, which is as follows: “Following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, season 4 takes us back in time to the lead-up of that moment. After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a ‘normal’ life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed ‘Poguelandia 2.0,’ where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the ‘G’ game for a whole new adventure. But before they know it, they're well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?”

While speaking to People on April 1, 2024, series star Chase Stokes shared an important update on the potential character arcs the Pogues will take throughout season 4. “The writers talked about how there was a real want for a lot of the authenticity and the characters in season 1," Stokes said. “So I will say that they do a good job this season of that.”

Stokes promised enough “YA drama” to satiate fans and teased a major transition for OTP John B and Sarah, who are both grieving their fathers. He added that this new chapter will have ripple effects across the rest of the main characters, too. “It's been a huge, huge shift in lifestyle in a very, very short period of time if you look at the actual timeline of the show,” Stokes said. “And I think when you go through that level of trauma, for sure, it'll make you start asking those deeper questions.”

On September 20, showrunners Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke teased that ripple effect to Entertainment Weekly. Apparently, things will start off sweeter than ever for the Pogues in the first episode of season 4. All three couples and all six best friends will be happily “living under the same roof and running a business together and doing it successfully," Chase Stokes told EW. And then, of course, sh*t hits the fan.

“They're getting older and the dramatic stakes for the relationships are deepening,” Burke told the outlet. “It's going to be a winding and rocky road, and there's going to be a lot of emotional and enigmatic turns for JJ and Kiara.” According to Jonas, “there's a bomb coming” for JJ and Kiara specifically.

“It's really hard to talk about their storyline without spoilers,” he said. “Definitely the biggest surprises we've ever done are this season. We're putting pressure on all those relationships and in new ways... that's not so much about love triangles.” Josh teased that the “series of new challenges” the Pogues and their relationships will face “are more external” this time around, instead of issues of trust or infidelity — like the issues Sarah and John B struggled through for seasons with Topper.

Now, the Pogues are facing brand new dangers and obstacles once they find themselves back in “the G game," and this time, it's dire. "As we see through some very unfortunate and very Outer Banks-esque moments, it's now out of sheer necessity," Stokes said of season 4's adventure. "So it's a different version of how they're going after it."

And according to Josh, one Pogue in particular will be going after it harder than anyone else. "There's a personal connection, and this is JJ's year," Josh said to EW. “It's our most powerful season yet. The stakes are getting higher.”

The OBX showrunners (Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke) have also spoken at length about their overall plan for the series. The Pate Brothers and Burke previously stated that they wanted to wrap up the show by season 5 — but after the season 4 renewal announcement, they seem to be thinking bigger.

“I don't know if I could put a real number on it right now — how long it takes to get to that ending might expand, but we now know the shape of the end of the story,” Josh told Entertainment Weekly in February 2023. “We're going to take it as long as we can, for sure.” “In season 17, we'll be on Mars,” joked Jonas.

Burke added that overall, they want to keep the show “grounded to some extent… because sometimes when it gets too big, it's not as fun anymore." I don't know — seems as though the sky's the limit for season 4 and beyond, especially considering the fact that the creators know how they eventually want to end the series. "We’ve always known from the beginning what the last scene would be, if we would be lucky enough to get it that far,” Josh said to TUDUM a few days after the S3 finale.

The Outer Banks cast has grown a bit since season 1, but is still led by your favorite Pogues and a few Kooks: Chase Stokes (who plays Pogue leader John B. Routledge), Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Madison Bailey (Kiara Carrera), Jonathan Daviss (Pope Heyward), Rudy Pankow (JJ Maybank), Carlacia Grant (Cleo), Austin North (Topper), and Drew Starkey (Rafe Cameron).

“The cast have been fast friends in real life pretty much from the very beginning, and it’s been so gratifying to see those connections deepen over the years we’ve worked on the show,” the Pate Brothers and Shannon Burke said to TUDUM ahead of season 3. "They are truly Pogues for Life.”

The series also stars Cullen Moss (as Sheriff Shoupe), Julia Antonelli (Wheezie Cameron), Caroline Arapoglou (Rose Cameron), and E. Roger Mitchell (Heyward, Pope's dad). Two of the biggest bombshells from season 3 include the deaths of Sarah's father Ward Cameron (played by Charles Esten) and John B's father Big John (Charles Halford). While Ward and Big John may not appear in new scenes, there's definitely still a chance they'll appear in season 4 through the form of flashbacks.

In February 2023, just days before the premiere of season 3, Netflix announced that Outer Banks received an early renewal for season 4. Netflix shared the news at the special interactive Poguelandia event in Huntington Beach, California, on February 18, along with some help from the cast.

“Seeing Poguelandia come to life was nothing short of spectacular,” said the showrunners, per Variety. "The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime, and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into season 4 of Outer Banks. Thank you to Netflix, our cast, and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen.”

The fourth season of "Outer Banks" debuts soon, with Netflix touting it as the show's "biggest season yet."

During a sit-down on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" last week, the show's star Chase Stokes (John B) gave insight on what fans can expect following the 18-month fast forward in Season 3.

"Season 4 picks up at that exact moment of those 18 months. We really get to explore what happens when they find the gold from El Dorado, what that does to a bunch of teenagers who have never had money," Stokes said. "If you've ever watched the show, the Pogues don't do too well when they have a positive situation so trouble kind of follows them."

In Outer Banks season 4, the gang reaps the benefits of striking gold — until it runs outs, that is.

The official trailer for the highly-anticipated fourth season — which is dropping in two five-episode parts, on Oct. 10 and Nov. 7 — is finally here, revealing new shipwrecks, mysterious tattoos and, of course, plenty of classic Pogue sarcasm.

The trailer, released Tuesday, Sept. 4, gives the first glimpse at the events leading up to last season’s 18-month flash-forward and, naturally, opens with cheeky narration from John B (Chase Stokes).

“So you might be wondering what happens when you find the lost city of El Dorado and you’re stranded with a sack full of gold,” he teases. “Let me catch you up.”

Then, the trailer cuts to the gang — John B, Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) — reaping the rewards of their El Dorado findings in “Poguelandia 2.0." At least, until they realize they’ve not only gone broke, but also owe a serious sum.

"We were gonna live the good life, the simple life, treasure-hunting was in the past,” John B narrates. “But what we didn’t know at the time is that nothing ever stands still.”

Faced with no other choice, the gang returns their hijinks, taking Wes Genrette (David Jensen) up on his proposal to find Blackbeard’s treasure — but everything isn’t what seems.

“Y’all aren’t getting a weird-a-- vibe?” asks Kiara, before John B adds, “There’s a lot more going on that we don’t know about.”

"But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the “G” game for a whole new adventure.”

“But before they know it, they're well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure,” the synopsis continues. “Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future - who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?”

Earlier this year, Stokes, 32, chatted with PEOPLE about season 4 — and specifically, what’s to come for his and Cline’s characters.

Both John B and Sarah were faced with a great loss after their fathers — Big John (Charles Halford) and Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), respectively — died at the end of season 3. This upcoming season, Stokes said, will see the on-screen couple grappling with those deaths.

“Anytime you experience loss, it hits in spaces and in places that you don't anticipate,” he told PEOPLE. “Being in the situation that John B and Sarah are in, it really will force them to evaluate everything.”

What happened in Outer Banks Season 3?

At the end of Season 3, an 18-month-flash-forward sequence showed Wes Genrette (David Jensen) proposing working together with the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure. Season 3 had previously brought about the deaths of Ward Cameron (Charles Esten) and Big John Routledge (Charles Halford) on the quest for El Dorado, the city of gold. The Pogues ultimately found what they were looking for — the gold in El Dorado.

What is Outer Banks Season 4 about?

Season 4 will take viewers back to the period that led up to Genrette’s proposal. They resolved to return to the Outer Banks to live a normal life, but financial setbacks (JJ bidding $100K on a boat when they get a bill for $13K shortly after) will pull them back into the “G” game.

Genrette offers a premium for their services in tracking down the legendary prize.

FIRST LOOKS/TRAILERS
Netflix is back with a second season of its survival competition series “Outlast,” and this time out, BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions has joined Aggregate Films in producing the series. “Outlast” returns on Sept. 4 with the first six episodes, followed by the final two on Sept. 11.

The show follows “16 lone wolf experts are dropped in the Alaskan wilderness and must outlast each other in a battle for a million dollar payout. There’s only one rule in this cut throat game: they must be part of a team to win.”

“We’ve been fortunate to produce hundreds of hours of programs in Alaska over the last 12 years and, along with our incredible producers in the field, and our partners at Aggregate and Netflix, our mission was to push the boundaries even further in the second season of this riveting series,” said Ryan O’Dowd, executive VP, entertainment & music for BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions and the BBC Studios EP for “Outlast.” “This season of Outlast delivers a compelling cast of survivalists who were dropped into an even more remote location, to endure even more brutal and punishing conditions, with more drama, action, and broken team alliances than ever before. With a life-changing million-dollar prize on the line, we set out to discover if, when pushed to their mental and physical breaking points, people would stay true to their morals, or if greed would ultimately prevail. And the results do not disappoint.”

Added executive producer Emma Ho from Aggregate Films: “Having produced the first season, we were thrilled to return and push the boundaries even further in Season 2. This time, we’re really testing the depths of human nature. The Alaskan wilderness remains as unforgiving as ever, but the players have changed. We pushed them to their absolute limits—physically, emotionally, and mentally—to see what they’re truly made of. The results are both compelling and revealing, showcasing the resilience and raw instincts of those brave enough to take on the challenge.”

“Outlast” comes from EPs Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and Emma Ho for Aggregate Films, Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney for BBC Studios, Dan Bree and showrunner Mike Odair. Here’s a first look at Season 2:

They may have found the gold, but the challenges are only going to get worse: Netflix has dropped a new teaser for season 4 of Outer Banks, which will be split into two 5-episode parts. Part 1 will drop October 10, followed by Part 2 on November 7.

Here’s the logline for the new season: Following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, Season 4 takes us back in time to the lead-up of that moment. After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a “normal” life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed “Poguelandia 2.0”, where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the “G” game for a whole new adventure. But before they know it, they’re well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future – who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?

The romance is only just heating up on Outer Banks.

The first look at season 4 of Netflix's treasure hunt drama is here, and the photos and teaser trailer reveal that all three of the Pogue couples — John B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey) and JJ (Rudy Pankow), and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) — are still going strong after the 18-month time jump.

John B and Sarah are shown sharing a gorgeously backlit kiss, Pope and Cleo are holding hands, and JJ and Kiara are sharing a bed (!). Getting their happy ending of finding the gold and safely returning home is really working out well for them.

But the trailer also teases that they've "got everything to lose this time," because the story's not over yet. "We finally did it — we finally found the gold," John B says in the voiceover. "That's where the story should have ended. But really, it was just the beginning."

Season 4 is going to turn back the clock to reveal what happened in those missing 18 months, leading up to the Pogues being hand-delivered a new treasure hunt to find Blackbeard’s treasure. According to the official synopsis, "after finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a 'normal' life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed 'Poguelandia 2.0,' where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. The Pogues are going on another treasure hunt!

Ahead of Outer Banks season 3, the cast announced the show's renewal for a fourth season during their fan event Poguelandia on Feb. 18, 2023.

"Seeing Poguelandia come to life was nothing short of spectacular," series co-creators, executive producers and showrunners Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke said in a joint statement to Variety. "The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into Season 4 of Outer Banks. Thank you to Netflix, our cast and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen."

Though details about the fourth season have been limited, the season 3 finale perfectly sets up the storyline. Following their adventures at El Dorado, an 18-month time jump shows the Pogues being honored for their discoveries back home. In the final scene of season 3, they are also enlisted to go on another adventure revolving around Edward Teach, a.k.a the infamous pirate Blackbeard.

It's assumed that the main cast will return for Outer Banks season 4, including Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Carlacia Grant, Austin North and Drew Starkey.

Speaking with PEOPLE exclusively, Daviss admitted he's interested to see how the Pogues' relationships with each other progress in a fourth season.

"There's no way they're not treasure hunting, so how does that play into all of this?" he teased. "How is his relationship with JJ and Kiara now? Is that different? Is his relationship with John B different? They're all still friends, but it has been a year. So I'm interested to see what all those interpersonal dynamics are."

Following the shocking deaths of Ward Cameron and John Routledge in the season 3 finale, it's possible that Charles Esten and Charles Halford won't return for season 4.

Starkey spoke with PEOPLE about how he thinks his character Rafe will react to his father Ward Cameron's demise ... especially after putting a hit out on him in season 3.

"It's interesting because he's already made the conscious decision to go into these uncharted waters of independence this season," he said.

"The first two seasons, you've seen him holding onto this dependency from his family and his father, and then this season, he allows himself to break free of that. It could go one of two ways: he could embrace it and move forward or he could react a little more aggressively."

As teased in the season 3 finale, the show features a major time jump as the Pogues are honored for their discovery of El Dorado while also given the opportunity to go on a new adventure, seemingly in search of famed pirate Blackbeard's hidden treasure.

For Bailey, the actress told PEOPLE the new treasure hunt feels like a "fresh start" for the show. "[Fans] should interpret it not as the end of an era, but we are very much summing up seasons one and two with a button," she teased.

"It can go really anywhere," she said of the new season. "I think we have a bit of a clean slate."

Of her hopes for the Pogues, she wants them to get a "solid win" in the new season. "With the [season 3] finale we've had our treasure hunt fun, which was kind of just to help John B and also to help Pope's family, and this kind of feels like a job opportunity," she noted.

"I hope they embrace this new challenge with more wisdom and I am excited to see where the relationships go and how have they've matured over these 18 months."

Josh also teased that the upcoming season will feature several flashbacks to fill in the gaps with the 18-month time jump. "We felt like we needed to migrate them out of school," he explained to Tudum. "We think about the first three [seasons] as a trilogy and then we're starting over on [another sort of] trilogy now. We just needed to clear the decks. We're going to have new villains, a new treasure hunt, a new life situation."

Speaking with PEOPLE in March 2024, Stokes teased that the characters will be dealing with self-doubt amid all they've faced the past few seasons. He added that John B and Sarah will also be grappling with the trauma of losing both of their fathers.

“Anytime you experience loss, it hits in spaces and in places that you don't anticipate,” he said. “Being in the situation that John B and Sarah are in, it really will force them to evaluate everything. Where they are, what their purpose is, what their intentions are, and what was the actual value of it? Was it worth it, in hindsight? If they could go back and change things, would they? Or do they feel okay with it?”

When did Outer Banks season 4 film?

The cast was originally going to start filming in the summer of 2023, however, production was put on hold amid the writer's and SAG strike.

In November 2023, the cast began filming the new season in Wilmington, North Carolina, a move from the show's usual filming location in Charleston, South Carolina. After filming overseas for a few weeks, the cast resumed filming in Charleston in late March 2024.

While speaking with PEOPLE in March 2024, Stokes revealed that the cast is “getting close” to the “finish line" when it comes to filming for the fourth season.

In June 2024, the cast announced that filming had wrapped with a fun video on Instagram, with Stokes noting it's been a "crazy journey."

Is there a trailer for Outer Banks season 4?

In August 2024, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for season 4.

"We finally did it. We finally found the gold," John B can be heard saying in the 45-second clip. "That's where the story should have ended. But really, it was just the beginning."

The teaser then shows the group embarking on a new adventure — the hunt for Blackbeard's treasure — which takes them to the depths of the ocean.

Netflix hasn't confirmed if season 4 will be the show's final season. Showrunners Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke previously stated that they had plans for the series to run for four or five seasons, however, they recently told EW that they're no longer adhering to that plan.

"I don't know if I could put a real number on it right now — how long it takes to get to that ending might expand, but we now know the shape of the end of the story. We're going to take it as long as we can, for sure," Josh told the publication.

Josh also teased to Tudum that they already know how the series will end. "We've always known from the beginning what the last scene would be, if we would be lucky enough to get it that far," he said, while Burke added that there's "a lot of dark, blank space" before reaching that final moment.
A line wrapped all the way around the block of John Street — from the door to Meeting to Hutson to King — with fans from as far away as Germany in town for one of Charleston's rare Hollywood red carpet moments.

It was the "Outer Banks" Season 4 world premiere on Oct. 8, hosted at the Charleston Music Hall. The overflowing affair drew MTV, People, Cosmo, Buzzfeed and more to the Lowcountry for coverage. They lined the sand-colored "red" carpet (to match the beachy theme of the hit Netflix series), and the show's iconic beat-up brown VW van with surfboards on top served as a photo backdrop alongside a blown-up logo.

The adventurous and down-to-earth Pogues, as they are dubbed, were all in attendance, dressed to the nines in long gowns, snazzy suits and bejeweled accessories. Some Kooks, the show's rival crew of wealthy teens, were also there, including Drew Starkey (Rafe Cameron), Austin North (Topper) and Deion Smith (Kelce), in addition to local actor and comedian Cullen Moss (Deputy Shoupe) and newer cast member Carlacia Grant (Cleo).

The stars and shows' creators and executive producers, Jonas, Josh and Shannon Pate, all strolled the not-so-red carpet, autographing posters for fans and taking selfies, as well as posing for pictures with family, friends and cast members. They then went down the line talking to various media outlets about themselves and the upcoming season, including The Post and Courier.

Of course this journalist wanted the scoop on all things Charleston. Some tidbits were revealed, including one of Stokes' favorite local restaurants, Sullivan Island's The Obstinate Daughter. Cline's favorites, which she almost didn't give away, are Malagon and Chubby Fish. And Moss' favorite comedy outlets are the ones he's a part of with his wife, Theatre 99 and Rip City.

Stokes recalled his "first interview ever" with me back in 2019 while filming the first season of "Outer Banks" downtown.

"It's such a trip," he said. "To be able to walk through Charleston and have a normal life to now people showing up like this, it doesn't feel real and I'm just very grateful."

Daviss also remembered my first interview with him at age 19 before "any of this" had even happened.

"It's become this whole thing, it's honestly incredible," he shared, saying it's opened the door for so many other creative opportunities.

Most of the cast agreed Charleston was a great place to film and truly their "home away from home."

For Goose Creek native Cline, it really is her home.

"It's very exciting to celebrate something like this in our backyard," she said.

She remembered acting at 16 years old on Danny McBride's show "Vice Principals."

"I think that was the experience on set that made me realize, 'Oh, OK, this is what I want to do," she said.

Something to the level of "Outer Banks" was always a pipe dream, but was never expected, she said.

For Moss, Charleston is also his home.

"I love shooting here," he said. "I live here, so I get to go home at the end of the day — and just what a beautiful place to shoot, it's great."

Starkey gave a shout-out to his hometown (he was born in Asheville and grew up in Hickory) in western North Carolina, which was affected by Hurricane Helene, before Netflix made an announcement that a donation would be made to help recovery efforts.

As for the upcoming season, some pirate lore close to Charleston makes its way into the plot, namely Blackbeard and his treasure. The cast couldn't give too much else away just yet.
