The young MCU hero Riri Williams a.k.a. Ironheart made her debut in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she fought alongside Shuri to defend Wakanda from Namor and the Talokanil. Riri is set to return in her own show, Phase 5's upcoming Ironheart series, which will also introduce the mystical villain The Hood.

At D23 2024: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where Screen Rant is in attendance, Marvel Studios shares a first glimpse at the MCU's upcoming Ironheart series. This footage reveals that Riri Williams has been expelled from MIT, and that she has become so focused on her next project that she's willing to work with The Hood to gather the necessary resources to accomplish it. Of course, Riri Williams' next project involves a new suit of armor, which resembles Tony Stark's early Iron Man designs like the Iron Man Mark I and II armors.
