10 shot, one fatally, after Tennessee State University homecoming parade

A shooting near a Tennessee State University homecoming parade on Saturday left one man dead and nine others injured, including three children.

The incident occurred around 5:10 p.m. on Jefferson Street as the parade crowd was dispersing after the event.

A 24-year-old man died in the gunfire, while the injured victims, including a 12-year-old and two 14-year-olds, sustained non-critical injuries.

Nashville police believe multiple shooters were involved, and one hospitalized individual may have fired shots.

The shooting was unexpected given the presence of numerous law enforcement officers at the event, NBC News has reported.
