We camped at the Sterling State Park campground on Brest Bay of Lake Erie in the state of Michigan. We fished the lagoons around the campground and the channel leading out to Brest Bay. The Mayfly hatch was in full swing, but we had a fair bite catching a Burbot, a small largemouth bass, a white bass and several blue gill, we had a great bluegill supper that evening. I really screwed where we live they call a burbot the poor man’s lobster. I thought I had caught a Bowfin, and cut it loose. I didn’t realize it was a burbot until as soon as I cut the line, live & learn as they say, now that I’ve looked I see that the burbot, Bowfin, & the Snakehead all look close to the same.
