Homestead VLOG 09.08.24 - Repair Gate, Garden Clean, Watermelon

Today we are out in the garden. Rain and other projects have kept us out of the garden while the weeds took over. There are downsides to having living walkways in a garden. The tall grasses and weeds not only look bad, but they prevent good ventilation around the base of the food plants. This lack of ventilation leads to blight which is now out of control. A little time on the weed eater will take care of that. Then on to the most important task of the day, repair the gate to the chicken yard. We will replace the gate at a later date, today we just need the gate to keep working.
