In the ongoing efforts to assist communities devastated by Hurricane Helene, Bohannan McKenzie shared a ground-level report from the affected areas. Here are the key details:

- Bohannan was recently in Erwin, Tennessee, where the scene was a tragic mix of debris: logs, homes, furniture, and human remains. Cadaver dogs were being used to search through the rubble while crews carefully removed layers of debris for burning. The work was methodical and somber, with piles being sorted and burned to clear the area.

- Bohannan then moved to the outskirts of another town. He expressed his concern over the local pastor's whereabouts, suggesting that the pastor may have perished in the disaster, though this remains uncertain.

- At an aid worker encampment, Bohannan and his team were reviewing old maps and current aerial shots from helicopters and drones. The visuals showed widespread devastation, with very little of the town left standing.

- Bohannan mentioned his plans for the following day, where he intends to drive around and assess the situation firsthand. There are still two churches in the area that no one has been able to contact, and the death toll, according to him, is far worse than what's being reported by the media.

- He spoke with an elderly resident who recounted a terrifying experience. She described a massive wall of water, as high as second-story windows, which swept through and destroyed the entire town in less than 15 minutes.

The report paints a stark picture of the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, highlighting the challenges of recovery and the need for ongoing relief efforts. Bohannan continues to work in the field, assessing the damage and trying to bring relief to those in the hardest-hit areas.
