Electricians heading to Florida - in response to Hurricane Milton threat

Not sure where this crew is coming out of but many headed in before and after Milton:

'Atlantic Canadians are stepping up to help those in Florida following Hurricane Helen, a major storm that haemorrhaged the state, and ahead of Hurricane Milton, which is poised to hit the sunshine state on Thursday.

Several electrical crews from Nova Scotia Power embarked on the drive south, starting through Maine down to Florida to join around 20 other crews from other states commuting from California to Minnesota to Tampa after “receiving the call only 24 hours ago.”'

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Electric companies nationwide lean on each other for support. To help out after the devastation in Florida, AEP Ohio is sending crews to help get power restored faster for those impacted.

Our 10TV crew was there as the central Ohio crews headed south before 7 a.m. Thursday morning. The crews were checking all their gear, trucks, and safety equipment.

AEP Ohio sent 94 workers from about 40 service centers across the state. When they arrive, they will be directed to where they're needed. The work they do in Columbus will be similar to the work being done in Florida.

They don't know how long they will be down there, but they were told to pack for 14 days.

Linemen from the Northland headed to Florida to help in aftermath of Milton:

Over two dozen linemen and support staff from Minnesota Power and Superior Water, Light and Power are heading to Florida to support Tampa Electric Co.

The call for help came on Tuesday. And Minnesota Power said the roster was full within two hours.

The crews are expected to stay for two weeks, but it could be longer if needed. They are expected to arrive as the storm leaves.
