Young Boy's Attempt To Clean Creates Even Bigger Mess

Aww, the poor little boy just wants to help clean up the kitchen. It is too bad that his attempt at cleaning ends up creating an even bigger mess! The video starts in media res, so we don’t know what the little boy is attempting to clean up. Maybe he spilled a drop of soup on the floor while carrying his bowl. But he does get a bit zealous in his wiping of the floor.

Anyway, the boy ends up spilling his entire bowl of soup, which appears to be chicken noodle, when he stands up. By the way if you have never attempted to make your own chicken noodle soup, I highly recommend it. It takes some time, especially if you make your own chicken stock which can take anyway from four to six hours, just in cook time, not counting prep. Here is what we recommend for stock: Quartered white onions, chunky chop carrots, celery and a head of garlic, fresh rosemary and parsley. No salt.

Then you add those vegetables to soup pot with chicken wings, spines and chicken thighs. Cover it with water and let it simmer for four to twelve hours, that bit is up to you. Remove scum from the top as it cooks if you want a clearer stock. Drain the stock liquid and set aside or freeze if you’re not ready for soup yet. For the soup, I would recommend using the same vegetables that you used in your stock but this time cutting them much smaller. Sauté the onion first and then add your other vegetables, then add stock. Chopped herbs go in after the stock, here you can experiment with herbs like ginger (we recommend grating ginger not chopping it) or thyme. Finally, add boneless, skinless chicken thighs and then leave them in the soup for 15 – 20 minutes at a boil. Then take the thighs out and shred the chicken. Add it back to the pot and let it sit for a maybe three more minutes, depending on how soft you like your vegetables. As for the noodles, we recommend that you only add noodles last, preferably egg noodles, and cook them with the soup that you serve. This should only take a few minutes. There’s a lot of room for herbal and spice experimentation but the base we have here should be a good start. Don’t forget to season your soup with salt and pepper to your taste levels.
