Spiritual Warfare E4 - Weapons of Warfare (Part 1)
On today's episode, Jana and Reata continue their discussion on spiritual warfare by delving into weapons of warfare. Reata shares the first four weapons in our arsenal to combat forces of darkness in our daily lives. She begins her list with faith, which she coins as the starting block weapon of warfare, for without faith you do not have any beliefs/truths to stand on. This leads into a conversation of how a lack of faith or wavering faith can blow you off course, and even derail your progression on your walk with Christ.
The second weapon of warfare they divulge is love. You may not think of love as a weapon, but there is great power in love. Love is a spiritual weapon that can be used to diffuse conflict and reconcile division. The enemy longs to create division and breed hate, yet when confrontation is confronted head on with love, the enemy has no foothold to get a rise out of you.
Next, they discuss how the word of God is an imperative weapon in the arsenal by revisiting how Jesus used the knowledge and applicable wisdom of the written word (the Bible) to overcome Satan's schemes. This inspires Jana to share how reading scripture in the morning helps her tackle daily obstacles with more grace and compassion.
Lastly, Reata closes out by explaining how Baptism is the fourth spiritual weapon of warfare and how the enemy can use confusion around the idea of baptism to keep you from growing in your relationship with God. She explains that after Jesus was baptized the Holy Spirit came and Jesus then began his ministry. As a result of his example, she encourages that baptism is a foundational step in acting out your faith, and in doing so, there is tremendous power against the enemy.
