An Atlanta police officer was shot dead while allegedly trying to break into a neighbor’s home – just days after he was honored with an “Investigator of the Year” award. Aubree Horton, 32, died in the early hours of Friday morning when he was shot by a homeowner in Winston, Georgia. Police said the homeowner was in fear for his life as Horton – who police said appears to have been suffering a mental health episode or was under the influence of narcotics – tried to break in through the door.

3: Mississippi man accused of unnatural intercourse with animals
Marion County Sheriff’s Office conducted an animal welfare check at a local residence after receiving information that they were being abused. 24-year-old Mason McMullin, was placed under arrest following the interview and a search warrant was served at his residence. Investigators recovered physical and electronic evidence at McMullin’s residence. McMullin has been charged with seven counts of aggravated animal cruelty, along with two counts of unnatural intercourse. He’s being held at the Marion County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond.

Georgia and John McGinty were passengers in an Uber on March 31, 2022, when their driver blew through a red light, T-boning another car, leading to major injuries suffered by the couple, according to court records. But the court ruled that the couple cannot sue the tech giant because their daughter, a minor, once checked a box while using her mother’s phone to order a pizza on Uber Eats, agreeing to waive trial rights.

5: 68 indicted ‘Peckerwoods’ white supremacist gang
Federal prosecutors on Wednesday indicted 68 alleged members and affiliates of the Peckerwoods, claiming the white supremacist gang sold drugs and committed fraud in the San Fernando Valley under the auspices of imprisoned members of the Aryan Brotherhood.
