Starmer's New Chief of Staff DROPS Scandal Bombshell on Labour!

Right, so for all the past machinations of Morgan McSweeney, Keir Starmer’s new chief of staff and a guy who absolutely should be better known than he is, having hidden in the shadows for long enough, karma appears to have visited the minute he’s right back at Starmer’s side. Having now replaced Sue Gray, the scrutiny she came in for, the right wing hackerati of our mainstream media having it in for her, seen as she was to have chucked their precious Bozo under the bus over Partygate, heaven forfend he face responsibility for his actions either, the minute she came to work for Starmer she became a target of their fever-brained belief that she was biased when working as a supposedly impartial civil servant.
Well now she’s gone and McSweeney in place, just where he likes it, but where Gray came in for it from the right, McSweeney is pretty much public enemy number one for the left in this country, aside from Starmer himself, at least amongst those clued into the guy. Well, on top of that shady track record it seems he’s now brought a massive of his own to the table and really it ought to finish him before he even gets started. They’re just all so corrupt under Starmer!
Right, so Morgan McSweeney. Amongst left wing politicos familiar with the guy, he is enough to induce dry heaving, rising blood pressure and a desire to perhaps lash out irrationally. If Starmer scraped the bottom of the barrel and went through it to resurrect Peter Mandelson as an advisor, McSweeney was one of the splinters. I think you can appreciate my particular distaste for this chap by now, but he is a massive unknown to a lot of people, so by way of a quick rundown of his track record in the Labour Party, which will very conveniently lead into the massive baggage he brought with him to the chief of staff role, now yet another scandal concerning another Starmer chief of staff, let me introduce him to you if you don’t know much about him already, because people really should.
McSweeney first rose to prominence within the Labour Party going into the 2005 General Election where he was campaigning in marginal seats to try and sell Blair to the electorate for a third time, having previously been working on Peter Mandelson’s Excalibur project, which was the media rebuttal department effectively, any dodgy allegations or claims being made were shut down quickly.
Following the General Election success of 2005 he went on to work on the Lambeth Borough Council campaign, the so-called dirty tricks campaign to wrest control of the Council from the Lib Dems for then Labour group leader Steve Reed, now the DEFRA Minister under Keir Starmer. It’s around this time that McSweeney apparently met his wife Imogen Walker, more on her in a moment.
McSweeney had gained a reputation for being a great organiser for the right wing within Labour, going on to helping the Labour Party see off the rise of the BNP in Barking, helping Margaret Hodge, as well as Hope Not Hate, supposedly there to crack down on racism, but with people such as Trevor Chinn behind it, antisemitism or allegations thereof have dominated much of what Hope Not Hate represents, especially in the Labour Party and we all know by now exactly how that was used.
Not everything has gone McSweeney’s way however. As a Blairite himself, he was behind Blairite Labour leadership candidate Liz Kendall in 2017, the Blairite candidate as she was, the Labour right sure that that is what makes Labour electable, only for Kendall to secure just 4% of the vote, the winner by a landslide being a certain Jeremy Bernard Corbyn.
2017 saw McSweeney then put together the think tank Labour Together, working from the get go to bring Jeremy Corbyn down, not because he wasn’t electable, but the fear was that he absolutely could be elected and the machinations of the Labour right would be done for.
Labour Together was run as a private company with McSweeney as it’s Secretary and they raised some £730,000 from private donations, but McSweeney stopped reporting these in December of 2017. This resulted in an Electoral Commission investigation, which saw Labour Together fined more than £14,000, not nearly enough in my view. But so it is that avid freebie taker Starmer, the scandal that has created in the Labour Party, now has a chief of staff implicated in being on that take themselves through that Labour Together involvement. More on this in a moment though, because this particular rabbit hole gets a lot worse.
When it came to Starmer though and that leadership campaign, McSweeney had learned from his mistakes with Kendall. Knowing the membership wanted a lefty leader to take over from Corbyn, but having been part of the faction undermining Corbyn’s leadership and recently the entire antisemitism scam levied at Corbyn to bring him down it has emerged was McSweeney’s doing, he knew he had to sell Starmer as a Corbyn continuity candidate, only to pivot back to his preferred right wing politics afterwards. Blow to what anyone else wants, the membership or the country, it’s what the Labour right wanted that was all that mattered. That is exactly what we’ve seen Starmer do of course.
So that’s Morgan McSweeney in a nutshell, let’s talk about Imogen Walker now. Walker was a bit part actor and councillor on Steve Reed’s Lambeth Borough Council, McSweeney’s involvement there already mentioned.
This is a woman who loves to wear a parachute it seems as she was parachuted in to sort out the problems on Croydon Borough Council, when they collapsed in 2019, there was no formal selection process, Walker just dropped in as Head of the leaders office.
When the same happened a couple years later in the Midlands, in Sandwell Borough Council, Walker again, strapped on the parachute and dropped in as Head of the leaders office wants more to apparently sort things out.
And then this year the parachute was donned once again, as this London based councillor was selected to stand in the Scottish constituency of Hamilton. She was apparently dire at the local hustings, wasn’t selected, however after a bout of online voting thanks to the Croydon based – any connection to her time there? Croydon based Anonyvoter online voting system which is widely considered by many Labour members and candidates to be completely corrupt, Walker was picked for Hamilton anyway. Also oh so conveniently, despite being a brand new intake MP, she’s now the PPS for Rachel Reeves, so a frontbench role straight from the off. McSweeney’s influence as you might imagine by this point, is massive, he is to Keir Starmer what Dominic Cummings was to Boris Johnson, but he’s also just brought a massive amount of baggage with him and it takes us back to Labour Together again.
All that money Labour Together raised, well what did they do with it?
Well if you thought Lord Alli was the worst of Labour’s donation problems, think again.
Over the past year, Labour Together has given more than £210,000 to cabinet members, nearly four times more than Lord Alli has given to the Labour Party in private donations. £10,000 of that went to Imogen Walker for her campaign.
Now McSweeney left his role at Labour Together in 2020, so none of this really applies to him directly, at least not on the face of it, but this massive donation to Labour does warrant investigation, especially since they have been fined for inappropriate financial decisions previously and that was on McSweeney’s watch. With the donation to Imogen Walker, McSweeney’s wife, it does beg the question of whether or not McSweeney is still in a position of influence lets put it with regards to such matters.
McSweeney tore apart the Corbyn project from within with ruthless enthusiasm. He got Starmer where he is today, to say Starmer will be holding McSweeney’s hand, as politically inept as he is, is probably an understatement, making you wonder who really is running the country because McSweeney is ruthless.
Some on the right claim the left have a pathological hatred for McSweeney. What he has actually exposed is that the broad church that Labour claims to be is a complete sham. The Labour right would not accept a left wing leader, yet the left has to accept a right wing one. Well when that got exposed, as Starmer’s leadership has done, we left and went elsewhere. The Labour right might continue to delude themselves that they made Labour electable again, but they made sure it wasn’t electable under the left, they sabotaged it from within to ensure that, their supermajority now they might consider is thanks to the right kind of people being back in charge, the grown ups being back in charge, but it has everything to do with a Tory collapse, not what Labour stood for, now being torn up policy by policy as they expose themselves for the red Tories they really are.
With McSweeney back at Starmer’s side as his chief of staff, expect things to get even worse again now. Where this mendacious sort of backroom machination worked once upon a time in the days of Tony Blair, in this day and age of social media and alternative media, they will be held accountable for it. Morgan McSweeney should be much better known than he is for a lot of good reasons, being involved to some degree in another donations scandal? Well it wouldn’t surprise me. This needs investigating, we need to know if he was involved still.
Sue Gray’s departure as Starmer’s chief of staff was hoped to be drawing a line under all of these Labour donation scandals, passes for glasses, cash for clothes etc, but if McSweeney is bringing all of that back again with him, well I’ve no sympathy. Get all the details of Sue Grays departure in this video recommendation here as your suggested next watch and I’ll hopefully catch you on the next vid. Cheers folks.
