I gave Kizer one final chance to impress me and got this limited edition of the Militaw that features stunning Fatcarbon scales, and a shiny DLC coating over the mirror-polished S45VN blade steel.

The Militaw arrives in this magnetically sealed Kizer box alongside some literature, a microfiber cloth for cleaning, a sticker, and some spare screws for maintenance - and the first thing that struck me was this buttery smooth opening action. And I know that we talk about smoothness all the time. But I must admit that this knife takes fidget-friendliness to a whole different level. This is true both for front flipping and also for the triangle-shaped thumb hole… but the biggest surprise is how seamlessly it shuts close.

And I’m sorry to bring up some negatives, but during my 6 full years of collecting blades, I still haven't seen a Kizer product that came without any issues. And even though the Militaw is one of their highest-end, limited edition, premium models - Kizer still managed to mess it up, as the fat carbon inlay behind the pocket clip is full of cracks and craters.

And I always promise myself not to buy a Kizer knife ever again - this one just looked way too sweet.
