There's a mist in the rain
Makes me remember when we kissed in the rain
The sun burns cold, and there's a wind at the eaves
October looks like rain

There is fire in the leaves
And I remember what you said in the rain
The things we promised when we wed in the rain
October sounds like rain

How it rained!
October gave our hearts a thrill
The apple-flavored days were sweet
But then a shadow sent a chill

I am beguiled with the rain
The wind is fierce—the air is wild with the rain
The days are hushed—the summer heart in me grieves
October feels like rain

It drips
It drizzles
It makes a mournful moan
October sounds like rain
And I'm alone
