The Allies under orders of Eisenhower kept innocent German civilians in open-air concentration camps. They were denied food, and aid from the Red Cross, and had only limited shelter.
Over 10 million Germans died this way, closer to 14 million. Women and children were forced at gunpoint at times to bury their own dead.
