This Sunday, David Townsend taught a message called, "The Anointing of Jesus Christ." Like many other Christian terms, "anointing" has lost its meaning to most Christians. It has become a buzzword that is used for any interesting person or service in the Body of Christ. In reality, Jesus Christ is the "Anointed One" who has come to live in us, and wants to express Himself through us at all times. To "have an anointing" means that Jesus Christ is expressed through us in power, ability, wisdom and every other way that He is seen. We have taken so much for granted, and separated the gifts from the Source. We need the anointing because it is the expression of the life of Christ through earthen vessels.
