Machine learning pioneers win Nobel physics prize

Scientists John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics for discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning within artificial neural networks. Hinton said he was "flabbergasted" as he received the award on Tuesday (October 8).
