Confirmation bias is a type of Cognitive Dissonance, that favors information that confirms your previously existing beliefs or biases.

Earth is Flat: Nope, Fact Checkers/Nasa/Governments love me and wouldn't lie about the shape of the earth 🙄

Or..., say you believe je-SUS Died on a Cross, and I show/prove to you beyond any reasonable doubt that je-SUS was hung on a tree, or how Allah/Islam, uses a crescent moon and star that was used by pagans to wo-rship Ba'al/Satan 👀

You will favour your beliefs (indoctrinated programming) over Undeniable Facts, because of Confirmation Bias/Cognitive Dissonance, and do things like:
*Get angry
*Ignore
*Use Ad hominems
