Work vs Nourishment: Maxick's Training Philosophy

Maxick believed it was better to nourish the muscle than to work it. Essentially it's the difference between moderate intensity/stimulating exercise vs high intensity/exhaustive exercise. All can recover from both however the older we get the latter may slow our progress more than quicken it. Others around his time had similar views.
